The Blindman Warranty Agreement
A limited lifetime warranty is extended to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship. No other warranty is implied or given by The Blindman, Inc. unless purchased by the home or business owner. Slight warping and discoloration on some products are considered normal and are not covered under the warranty. Acts of God, normal fading and abuse are not covered under the warranty. Service repairs performed or attempted by unauthorized service agents will void warranty. We retain the right to make a factory inspection to determine the cause of the problem. Inspection must reveal a manufacturer defect. Most repairs can be made in your home, however some repairs will require service in one of our local service centers or need to be sent back to our factory. All repairs not covered under our warranty must be paid for at the time of service.
Maintenance
Your custom blinds and verticals must be maintained as outlined below to insure they will look beautiful for many years to come.
- Dust or vacuum frequently
- For non-wood products clean frequently with a well-diluted mild soap. Be sure not to leave water standing on blinds. No chemical cleaning solutions should be used.
- For wood products a light coat of high grade furniture oil may be applied to smooth painted or stained finishes.
- Sand blast finishes and fabric products should be vacuumed or dusted only. No cleaning solutions should be used.
Do not allow TBM products to get wet or be blown by the wind. Water damage is not covered by your warranty. We recommend blinds be professionally cleaned at least once a year.
Wood Blinds and Shutters:
Regular dusting with a soft clean cloth will keep wood blinds in beautiful condition.
For the general care of real wood window coverings, it is recommended that you never get them wet or wash them with water. A regular routine of dusting with a clean soft cloth or can of compressed air coupled with a monthly light vacuuming with the brush attachment on your vacuum will keep your wood window coverings as beautiful as the day you put them up. For heavy dirt or stains, contact a cleaning service that specializes in the care and cleaning of wood products.
Faux Wood Blinds:
Regularly dust with a clean, soft cloth, a can of compressed air or gently use the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner to remove dust. Heavy dirt on a faux wood blind can be wiped off with a clean cloth dampened with warm water. You can add a mild detergent if necessary. Professional services that specialize in blind cleaning are also an option. Slats on vertical blinds can be removed individually for cleaning if necessary.
Pleated and Honeycomb Shades:
Dirt, dust and other material floating around in the air will make pleated and honeycomb shades look dingy after an amount of time. However, our pleated and honeycomb shades are treated with an anti-static coating that repels dust. With a regular dusting routine, the life and look of your pleated and honeycomb shades can be prolonged for a number of years.
Maintaining your pleated shades will depend on the material or fabric from which they are made. For general care, shades can be dusted with a feather duster or a can of compressed air. For heavy dust, using the brush attachment that affixes to the hose on a vacuum sucks up the dust and also keeps it from resettling back on the shades. (Remember, any fabric shade, such as pleated or roman shades, need to be dusted or vaccuumed on both sides!)
